My name is James Hughes, though most people know me online as Hues. I'm a 20-year-old 3D artist, game developer, and computer science student from Barbados.

I began creating 3D content at the age of 13 and have spent the last seven years developing skills across nearly every stage of game development. My experience includes hard-surface modeling, sculpting, UV mapping, baking, texturing, optimization, engine implementation, programming, animation, and game design.

Throughout that time, I have contributed artwork to several projects developed by Viking Studios, including Lost, Dust Wasteland Survival, and Project Delta. These projects provided valuable experience creating production-ready assets and working within established development pipelines.

Today, my primary focus is environment and prop art, with a particular interest in texturing and material creation. I enjoy exploring how shape, surface detail, and texture work together to define the visual identity of a game world.

Alongside my artistic work, I hold an Associate Degree in Computer Science and am currently completing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. My technical background allows me to approach asset creation with an understanding of optimization, workflows, and the practical requirements of real-time game development.

I am currently developing my largest project to date: a fully solo game development project that serves as both a portfolio piece and a challenge to create every aspect of a game from start to finish. From concept art and 3D assets to programming and implementation, the project represents the culmination of the skills I have developed over the past seven years.
